Christmas Time is Here Again!
Sorry, it's been months since I've updated this blog. Been so busy with life, kids, pets, etc. And now the cars are taking all my cash. Timing belt ($$$), dead battery, tow truck, flat tire, tow truck, four new tires. Not much left for Christmas shopping! And the girls want North Face jackets ($$$). Help me, Santa!
We got our Christmas tree yesterday. My older daughter and I went driving around, looking for Christmas Tree Farm signs. We followed signs to a wonderful place, found a tree and sawed it down. It's the perfect height, but it's not very full. It's got nice short needles and strong branches, but as I strung the lights last night it seemed to be quite sappy. Do they make a perfect tree? Needles that don't fall, needles that don't cut your fingers as you hang decorations, full, rounded, bushy shape. And no sap! I suppose that you have to decide what part of the tree is the most important to you.
At least you don't have to compromise on your wardrobe. You can look fantastic for the holidays, stay comfortable at all your parties, and not worry about someone spilling a drink on you! How can you do all this? With Jockey Person to Person clothes, of course! This exclusive line of comfortable, stylish, washable women's wear can take you through the holiday season with ease. Our fantastic Little Black Dress can be worn at least eight different ways. Our Modal Blend collection can turn anyone into a fashionista. JP2P clothes can be dressed up or dressed down. You can go from the office to the office party to a holiday extravaganza and fit in perfectly at each one! Check out our catalogs online, and give me a call to set up your party, where you will be the hostess who gets a free wardrobe!

What Will You Do On Your Summer Vacation?
Summer is in full swing and many families are going on vacation. Beach, mountains, lakes, cities, the options are endless. What will you pack? First, decide what activities you will be doing. If you'll just be lying on the beach drinking pina coladas, you won't need to pack much, just a few bathing suits and sunscreen. If you're going to be hiking, you'll need good sturdy shoes, several pairs of socks, one or two pairs of denim shorts or other hiking shorts (the kind that roll up to become shorts and roll down to become long pants are ideal) and a short-sleeved top and a long-sleeved top, as well as sunscreen and bug spray.
But if you are planning to go out dining, or wander through museums, or attend a cultural event such as a play, you will need to be a bit more selective in your wardrobe. It is a good idea to pack one skirt, one jacket, one pair of nice pants and two different tops. It's an even better idea if these items can be mixed and matched to create several different looks, so that you don't need to pack too many outfits. If you look on pp. 14-15 and pp.28-29 of our Spring/Summer catalog, you will see how easily this can be done! You can create 10 or 12 completely different outfits from only 5 or 6 key pieces. And if these key pieces are classic, not trendy, they will serve you well for years to come.
With the prices the airlines are charging for extra baggage, if you can fit all your clothes in the overhead compartment, you'll be saving money that can be spent on a good restaurant when you reach your destination. And clothes that are washable are an asset when you're away from home. Wherever you go for vacation this year, be safe, use sunscreen, and have fun!

How Many Ways Can You Wear a Scarf?
You see them everywhere, the scarves around women's necks. Twisted, tied, front-hanging, side-hanging, how do they do it?
The easiest and quickest way is to fold it in half (double it so it's folded at the midpoint), make a loop, put it (doubled) around your neck and pull the two ends through the loop. Adjust as needed.
Another look is the cowl. Put the scarf around your neck with the ends hanging down in front evenly. Knot it loosely, about halfway down, then slide the scarf around so that the knot is at the nape of your neck and the center of the scarf is hanging in front. Fluff it up so it looks nice!
If you want a fancier look, add a brooch at the knot when your scarf is tied in the front. Or, slide it halfway around and pin it to one shoulder. Also, depending on the thickness of the scarf, you can use an adjustable ring or adjustable cuff bracelet to hold it together.
Of course, if the scarf is a long one, it doesn't have to go around your neck - use it as a belt! You can wrap it around once, twice, whatever works, over a skirt, a jacket, anything. Another great look, especially for summer, is to wrap the scarf around your upper body. Start by wrapping it around your neck and then twist the two sides together instead of knot. Loosely drape it over your chest, then tie it at your lower back. Depending on the material, this could turn out elegant or casual. It's all up to you!
There is no wrong way to wear a scarf! Just be sure to wear one! Call me for more tips and a free demonstration.

Cold, Snow, Winter: Will it Ever End?
February. Thank goodness it's the shortest month. Much of the country is covered in snow, and I'm trying to sell Spring and Summer clothing! Luckily, Jockey Person to Person has carried forward a few items from the Fall / Winter collection, such as the soft and warm Fleece Zip Front Jacket. This item should help you get through the rest of this month, whether you're out jogging, walking the dog, or playing in the park with your kids, until it warms up next month.
The most exciting news coming out of our Spring catalog is the color PURPLE. We have added color to our popular new Modal-blend dressy Skirt, Short-sleeved Top and Jacket! See pp. 18-19 of our catalog to view these items. The Jacket is one of the most versatile pieces I've ever seen! See some of the different ways it can be worn on pp.14-15. As part of our "Perfect 5" Travel Collection, the Jacket can become part of a professional outfit, a casual outfit, or a dressy evening outfit. Don't leave home without it! If you do travel, please go somewhere warm!
