Your Fashion Update for 2012: Is Orange the New Pink?

Make yourself stand out and get noticed this spring with bold bursts of color. Try using navy, black, or brown as a backdrop, then add coral, canary, teal, or magenta as accent colors. Coral, and other shades of orange, is making a splash this season on the runways. It's been featured by Prada, Vera Wang, Tommy Hilfiger, Herve Leger, Ferragamo and many other designers. Orange is no longer just a favorite color of five-year-olds but a fresh, natural addition to your spring/summer wardrobe. In fact, Pantone has named “Tangerine Tango” the 2012 color of the year.

Coral goes well with turquoise and ivory, as this color combo evokes a seaside motif. Try mixing your tropical coral with denim or with white for a fresh look. Peach or coral goes well with neutrals such as tan, brown, and light gray for a soft look. For a bolder look, mix it with other brights such as canary and add some metallics. Coral can also brighten up a nature-inspired animal print ensemble.

Crocuses, Hyacinths, and other Purple Flowers

Ah, the colors of Spring! Purple is royal and majestic, and reminds us that crocuses, hyacinths,and tulips come back to life every year and so should we. Cold, Snow, Winter: Will it Ever End?

February. Thank goodness it's the shortest month. Much of the country is covered in snow, and I'm trying to sell Spring and Summer clothing!
